Redneck for Barack Obama.

Since, thanks to the stupid early primaries and the media, the choices have been whittled down to two for the so-called Super Tuesday, I'll glady vote for Obama.
If you find it incongruous that a redneck would vote for an African-American or if it causes you to doubt my redneck credentials, I'll be happy to explain myself.
First, what exactly is a redneck? Everybody has their own opinion, but I'll rely on Merriam-Webster.
Main Entry:
red·neck
Pronunciation:
\ˈred-ˌnek\
Function:
noun
Date:
1830
1 sometimes disparaging : a white member of the Southern rural laboring class

I guess I'm considered white, I was adopted so who knows. Personally, I like to think that I'm like most Americans and am a mixture of a little bit of everything.
Some may argue that Oklahoma is not part of the South. But let me remind you that the last Confederate general to surrender was Cherokee Chief and Brigadier General Stand Watie, from and in Indian Territory, that's Oklahoma.
Rural laboring class? I grew up on a small ranch and my Dad owned hay trucks. Once I was big enough to pick up a bale of hay I spent my summers on the back of those trucks. Trust me, labor is not a strong enough word. Hell, I even went back to hauling hay after I got out of the Army, 'cause Dad was having a hard time finding hayhands.
Now that you've got my C.V., we'll get down to the bone in this meat.
Just because a person is brought up ignorant is no excuse for staying that way. Let alone to be wallowing in ignorance and actually being proud of it.
I'm certainly not ashamed to be a redneck, in fact it comes in kind of handy when debating politics, rednecks tend not to have a lot of backdown in them. When the debate gets to the point of the other side calling names, they always do when you debunk their crap, the redneck thick skin helps too.
Almost all the Conservatives have left the local discussion boards, they've started their own and won't let any of us in. But I miss the good old days of being called traitor, communist, etc.. That was back before most of the rest of the country started realizing that Bush was little more than a lying idiot.
Anyway, I took the long way around to saying this, I'm a white Southern, redneck, male and I'm voting for Barack Obama to be the Democrat candidate and again to be President of the United States.
I don't care what color, what sex, what sexual preference, what religion or lack thereof, I'm going with the person who I think will stand up for the regular Americans. After all, they're what makes this country great. Well, them and the Constitution.
Get out and vote!
Later.

  2. Dont listen to some of the dumbasses above you. They dont realize there is a difference between "redneck" and "stupid inbred never read a book in his life asshole" Redneck was a term first used to describe Union members fighting the coal companies. And trust me folks there is only one Pro-Union candidate in this election and that is Barack Obama. Keep voting against your own self interests because you have been tricked by the republicans into thinking they have a monopoly on family values. They are the party of the rich for the rich and by the rich. Bush has done nothing but pissed all over are constitution. We had 8 years under Clinton and I still have my .45. Obama isnt going to take your guns.

I did not mean that Conservatives are generally stupid; I meant, that stupid persons are generally Conservative. I believe that to be so obvious and undeniable a fact that I hardly think any hon. Gentleman will question it.
